Birch News – November 2021
Wow! What a creative term we have had!
We’ve built towers, tunnels and bridges in our study of castles! We’ve drawn castles, made mosaics of castles and even created castles on the computers! We’ve even built a castle wall to be knocked down by different projectiles! All in the name of science!
In English we enjoyed the story of The Kiss that Missed by David Melling and compared features with other similar books. We have learnt about different word types and built up adjectives with nouns to make our Harvest poetry.
Science has been a firm favourite this term with a lot of hands-on investigation into properties of materials. We have tested which materials are most waterproof and even tried to make waterproof material using different substances.
Perhaps the highlight this term has been our Harvest assembly. It was such fun preparing and performing our songs and sharing our poems with so many visitors. We will always remember our Mr Scarecrow song along with our very own scarecrow stick puppets.
