What a busy half term we have had!

We have really enjoyed being back together again after the long summer break. Our topic this half term is called 'Predators', and we launched our topic by welcoming a company called ‘Bird on The Hand’ who brought in a range of flying predators for us to see. We all got the chance to hold Fletcher the tawny owl and see a falcon and eagle up close.

We have had lots of fun lessons learning how to draw flying predators and making a crocodile out of clay. We even had a go at writing a Haiku poem about a predator and then making predator biscuits!

In our maths lessons, we have been focusing on place value and then we moved on to addition and subtraction using our place value knowledge to support us. We can how use column addition and subtraction successfully!

In our PE lessons, as well as learning how to play basketball, we have also been studying the movements of a range of predator animals and moving like them to music. We particularly enjoyed listening and moving to ‘Carnival of the Animals’ by Camille Saint-Seens.
